Sunderland forward Katy Watson has signed a new two-year deal with the club.

The Lady Black Cats announced the news via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 20-year-old is a product of the Sunderland academy system and she has gone on to impress in the senior squad in recent seasons. Despite her young age, Watson has already made 105 appearances for Sunderland in all competitions in which she has scored 17 goals. The player produced eight goal involvements in 22 matches in Barclays WSL2 in 2025/2026.

Watson is a big talent and Sunderland have moved quickly to retain her services for an extended period.

After signing on again with The Lady Black Cats, Watson said “I’m delighted to sign my new deal with the club. It means a lot to me, and I’m really excited to see what the next few years have in store. It’s an exciting time for the club, and I can’t wait for the season to start and hopefully score more goals in front of our supporters.”

Watson follows teammates Jenny Blench, Natasha Fenton, Emily Scarr and Mary Corbyn in signing fresh terms with Sunderland during the close season. Further contract news will be announced by the club in due course.
