Sunderland in talks with Gladbach for Jonas Omlin

AFC Sunderland have made contact with Borussia Mönchengladbach regarding their interest in Jonas Omlin.

Sunderland are considering a potential transfer for the Switzerland native before Deadline Day arrives on February 2, 2026.

Talks between the Premier League side and the Rhinelanders are ongoing, but no agreement has been reached yet.

As for Omlin, the 32-year-old has completely fallen out of favour at Gladbach since Moritz Nicolas' sharp rise in stock.

A calf muscle injury derailed his 2024-25 campaign on Matchday 4 which opened the door for Nicolas to claim first choice status.

Omlin initially joined Gladbach from Ligue 1 side Montpellier for €9million in the January transfer window of 2023.
