Sunderland’s loanees have had mixed returns, with Dan Neil helping Ipswich to automatic promotion and two Black Cats chasing Championship play-off success. Anthony Patterson and Alan Browne head into the post-season with Millwall and Boro respectively.

According to Sunderland Echo, Neil joined on loan in January, made 16 appearances, and came on late in a 3-0 final-day win against QPR that clinched second. Ipswich’s stance on a permanent move is unclear, and recent reports have linked Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers with the midfielder.
