Sunderland: Mukiele scores against Wolverhampton
Congolese-born player Nordi Mukiele was one of the key architects of Sunderland’s victory over Wolverhampton (2-0) this Saturday.
Starting the match, Mukiele opened the scoring in the 16th minute after a fine exchange with Trai Hume, finishing with a precise shot through the legs of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. Solid at the back and highly active going forward, the former PSG player showcased his excellent adaptation by netting his first goal in his new colors.
The “Black Cats” then sealed their win in stoppage time, capitalizing on an own goal from defender Ladislav Krejci. With this victory, Sunderland climbs to 7th place in the table, level on points with Chelsea and Tottenham, while Wolves remain bottom of the league, still winless after eight rounds.
