Sunderland held Manchester United to a goalless draw at the Stadium of Light after a composed display.

According to Sunderland Echo, Regis Le Bris’s side controlled large spells and were denied by some excellent Senne Lammens saves. Although United pressed late on, they struggled to fashion clear chances.

Lutsharel Geertruida justified his recall, growing in confidence after the break. He repeatedly appeared in advanced areas and struck the post with his weaker left, earning eight.

Nordi Mukiele impressed back at centre back, calm in possession and there to make big clearances when needed. He was also rated eight.

Omar Alderete was not always precise with his passing, yet defended strongly and dominated his duel with Zirkzee. He received seven.

Robin Roefs had little shot-stopping to do against a flat United side and stayed composed on the ball. The goalkeeper made a late save and was given six.
