Sunderland quartet set to depart as Florent Ghisolfi targets late deals | OneFootball

According to Sunderland Echo, Sunderland could move on four fringe players on deadline day, giving Florent Ghisolfi scope to bolster Régis Le Bris’ squad before the 11pm cut-off.

Simon Adingra, Alan Browne, Abdoullah Ba and Hemir are all expected to depart, with none currently in line for a significant first-team role.

Ajax are closing in on a season-long loan for Adingra, which would include an option to buy. He joined from Brighton for around £20.5million last summer and spent the second half of the campaign at Monaco.

Sunderland have been pursuing another winger in recent weeks, so an Adingra exit would likely raise expectations that Ghisolfi adds a further attacker.

Browne is expected to return to Preston North End on a permanent deal. The 31-year-old spent a decade at Deepdale before signing for Sunderland on a free in 2024, and Blackburn Rovers have also shown interest.

Ba could leave permanently, with Turkish side Sivasspor still a possibility after a proposed switch to Peterborough United collapsed earlier in the window. Sunderland remain open to a permanent exit.

Hemir is also set to move on after a loan at Moreirense, who opted against triggering their purchase clause this summer. No clear destination has emerged.

The focus would then turn to late additions out wide, with offloading players outside Le Bris’ immediate plans potentially giving Ghisolfi a cleaner squad and greater flexibility for a final push.
