Sunderland are close to signing Dutch goalkeeper Robin Roefs in a £9 million deal with the player due for a medical today.
Roefs came through the academy at NEC making his debut for the club in September 2023 before becoming a regular for the Eredivisie side last season.
According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, the Black Cats have come to an agreement with NEC for the 22-year-old who will sign a five-year contract after completing a medical.
The deal will be worth €10.5 million with a further €3 million meaning that Sunderland could end up paying a total of £11.7 million for the Netherlands youth international.
Régis Le Bris have been busy in the transfer window since promotion from the Championship and are also set to sign Granit Xhaka from Bayer Leverkusen.
