Regis Le Bris has confirmed that Brian Brobbey is fit to play against Crystal Palace on Saturday.
The striker has been managing a hamstring issue but the Black Cats boss says he is available for their upcoming clash.
But Le Bris will be without Bertrand Traore and Arthur Masuaku, who suffered injuries at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Sunderland had said both recoveries were expected to take at least a month, but Le Bris says he is hopeful of Traore returning within four weeks.
On Traore’s injury, Le Bris said: “We are expecting probably a three or four-week timeframe.
“We won’t rush the process because it’s better to give him a strong rehabilitation programme.
“We have other options because we were without him for almost four weeks (at AFCON).”
