Sunderland are unchanged for Arsenal’s visit to the Stadium of Light on Saturday night, with Régis Le Bris sticking with the side that drew 1-1 with Brentford.

According to Sunderland Echo, Thomas Meunier continues in a more advanced role on the right, with Nordi Mukiele at right back and Kevin Danso at centre back. Chemsdine Talbi returns to the squad after his matchwinning display against Hull City in midweek, with Jules Ahoka making way.

As expected, striker Juan Riqulemo Angulo is not included despite his visa being approved. He has travelled to Wearside and should begin training this week.

Le Bris has told his players to stay true to their identity and be as aggressive as possible against a side he currently rates as the best in Europe. He said lessons from last season showed that straying from their principles, for example abandoning man-for-man to nullify opponents, did not work, so they must adapt smartly without losing themselves.

He accepted they will sometimes be forced deeper, but wants aggression higher up the pitch whenever it is possible, otherwise it becomes a big problem.

For Arsenal, Cristhian Mosquera is not fit enough to make the bench, while Jurrien Timber is named in the squad for the first time since the Champions League final.
