Régis Le Bris has made one change to his Sunderland XI for Sunday’s meeting with Everton, bringing in Nilson Angulo.

Angulo returned from a hamstring problem off the bench at Manchester United last week and now replaces Chemsdine Talbi, starting on the left after much of his time on the right since January. According to Sunderland Echo, it is his first start since he was injured in training before the defeat to Brighton in March.

Trai Hume continues on the right of midfield, with Lutsharel Geertruida at right back. Bertrand Traoré is not recalled, and Jocelin Ta Bi keeps his place among the substitutes. Le Bris said it was a re-injury and, with the knee issue new to the player, he preferred to be cautious despite a more consistent week in training.

Sunderland XI: Roefs, Geertruida, Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo, Xhaka, Sadiki, Le Fee, Hume, Angulo, Brobbey. Subs: Ellborg, Cirkin, O’Nien, Mayenda, Isidor, Talbi, Ta Bi, Diarra, Rigg.

Before the game, Le Bris also said the club are not planning to loan out Ta Bi next season. He described the winger as talented but very inexperienced, and indicated minutes could come late in games while decisions on starters and substitutes are taken later.
