Sunderland are assessing a double summer move, with Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Olympiacos right-back Costinha under consideration. Il Mattino claims the Black Cats remain interested in Anguissa after exploring a deal last year.
Anguissa’s season has been hampered by injury, which has complicated talks over a new contract. He is tied to Napoli until 2027, and there is a suggestion the club could accept offers rather than push for a renewal.
Sunderland were among the clubs to pursue him most strongly previously, alongside Bournemouth, with his family thought to favour a return to England. Antonio Conte convinced him to stay then, but a Premier League switch could again be realistic this summer.
If pursued, Anguissa would add experience and physicality in midfield. His ball-carrying and output in advanced areas could give Régis Le Bris another option, provided a deal is financially viable.
Sunderland are also being linked with Costinha as they look to bolster the back line. The 26-year-old helped Olympiacos to a league and cup double last season and featured in Europe, and though form has fluctuated this term he remains a regular.
The club are thought to have monitored him since January and are weighing whether to move with an offer. Competition from England and Italy is anticipated, while Olympiacos are not expected to discuss a sale until the campaign ends, and the defender is contracted until 2029.
