Football Insider reports that Sunderland could reignite their interest in Leicester City winger Abdul Fatawu this summer as the Foxes seek to raise funds.

Leicester are said to be targeting a significant reduction in their wage bill, and Fatawu is among those who could be moved on, with the club open to negotiating a deal.

The Ghana international is considered ready for a Premier League return and could offer more impact than Sunderland’s current wide options.

It is also suggested Sunderland could allow Romaine Mundle to leave if they secure Fatawu.

The speculation follows comments from new Leicester chief executive Kevin Davies, who recently acknowledged the club must improve their finances after relegation and a failed immediate return.
