Sunderland have reportedly set their stance over Brian Brobbey’s future amid interest following his World Cup performances.

"Brian Brobbey is a player who has really impressed me since he came to Sunderland. They took a bit of a gamble on signing him from the Eredivisie, because strikers coming from that league can be very hit and miss in the Premier League." He was speaking to Football Insider.

The former Ajax striker scored seven goals in 31 Premier League games last season, helping Regis Le Bris’ side finish seventh and qualify for the Europa League.

He then earned a Netherlands call-up, scoring three in the group stage, before Ronald Koeman’s side lost on penalties to Morocco in the round of 32.

"From Sunderland's point of view, though, there's no way they're going to let him go because he's become such an important part of their squad."

There have been claims Manchester United, Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have shown interest in the forward.
