Sunderland begin their Europa League campaign against AZ Alkmaar on Wednesday night, their first European outing in 53 years. Both camps have issued team updates ahead of kick-off.

According to Sunderland Echo, head coaches Régis Le Bris and Leeroy Echteld delivered updates in Tuesday’s press conferences on Wearside.

Reinildo is available, as his one-game ban for the red card in the 2-0 Arsenal game applies only to Premier League fixtures and will take effect at Manchester City on Sunday. U21 players Timur Tutierov and Tom Proctor trained with the senior squad on Tuesday, though they may not be required.
