Sunderland welcome Everton on Monday night, aiming for a third consecutive Premier League victory.
This is a feat the Black Cats have not achieved since May 2014. Régis Le Bris’s side are currently flying high in sixth place. Their successful campaign has been built on remarkable resilience. They showed this quality again in their 2-1 comeback win at Chelsea last weekend.
This match is a huge opportunity to continue their strong start. In fact, the Black Cats have already won five league games this season. This is just one fewer than they managed in the entire 2016-17 campaign. Furthermore, they are facing an Everton side that has struggled for goals. The Toffees also have a poor recent record at the Stadium of Light.
Régis Le Bris has been handed a double boost ahead of tonight’s game. Defender Omar Alderete and winger Simon Adingra are both hopeful of returning. Alderete has trained after a concussion, while Adingra is available after a minor hamstring issue.
Additionally, full-back Reinildo Mandava is fully available for selection. This will likely cause a defensive reshuffle. Nordi Mukiele could move to centre-back, allowing Trai Hume to shift to his natural right-back role. The team, however, remains without a number of other players, including midfielder Habib Diarra. Striker Wilson Isidor, who scored the impressive winner at Chelsea, will lead the line again.
Possible Sunderland starting XI: Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, Alderete, Reinildo; Xhaka, Geertruida, Sadiki; Talbi, Isidor, Le Fee
The Premier League fixture takes place at the Stadium of Light on Monday, 3 November 2025. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:00 pm GMT.
Fans in the UK can watch the match live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. Coverage starts at 7:00 pm GMT.
