Sunderland ended their winless run with a 1-0 success at Leeds United, their first Premier League victory since early February. They are 11th on 40 points from 29 games, 12 above the drop and four off the top seven.
According to Sunderland Echo, Regis Le Bris’ best XI uses WhoScored’s season ratings and includes only players with 25 percent or more of minutes. It starts with Robin Roefs 6.73 in goal, then Nordi Mukiele 7.01, Dan Ballard 7.02, Omar Alderete 6.99 and Reinildo Mandava 6.72.
In midfield, Granit Xhaka 7.01 partners Noah Sadiki 6.56, with Habib Diarra 6.46 ahead. The front three are Chemsdine Talbi 6.34, Enzo Le Fee 6.69 and Brian Brobbey 6.43.
Roefs has underpinned a strong defence, but standards cannot drop on his return from injury after Melker Ellborg marked his debut at Leeds with a 7.23 rating and four saves to keep a clean sheet.
Mukiele edges Trai Hume at right-back, despite also featuring centrally.
Le Fee leads with a team-high eight goal involvements, four goals and four assists. Brobbey is top scorer with five in 22 appearances, 13 starts. Diarra has two in his last six league games plus another in the FA Cup, and he will hope this sparks an uplift on his 6.46 rating.
Notable omissions are Lutsharel Geertruida 6.37, Wilson Isidor 6.31 and Hume 6.65. An FA Cup trip to Port Vale on Sunday precedes Brighton’s visit next week, when Sunderland will look to move into the Premier League top half.
