Sunderland could still reach Europe on Sunday at home to Chelsea, for only the second time and the first since 1973, as the squad’s value has surged since their Premier League return.
According to Sunderland Echo, last summer’s ambitious rebuild after play-off promotion under Regis Le Bris delivered club-record deals for Habib Diarra and Enzo Le Fee, plus arrivals including Robin Roefs, Brian Brobbey and Granit Xhaka, and the report sets out a highest-valued XI using Transfermarkt figures.
That XI by valuation is: GK Robin Roefs €25.00m, RB Lutsharel Geertruida €20.00m, LB Trai Hume €22.00m, CB Nordi Mukiele €18.00m, CB Dan Ballard €20.00m, midfielders Noah Sadiki €30.00m, Habib Diarra €32.00m and Chris Rigg €25.00m, RW Chemsdine Talbi €25.00m, LW Enzo Le Fee €25.00m, ST Brian Brobbey €25.00m.
Two notable omissions are Wilson Isidor, valued at €18.00m despite five Premier League goals this season, and Xhaka at €10.00m.
Other valuations include Eliezer Mayenda €18.00m, Nilson Angulo €17.00m and Omar Alderete €15.00m, with Dennis Cirkin and Romaine Mundle at €8.00m. Bertrand Traore and Reinildo Mandava are at €5.00m, Melker Ellborg and Jocelin Ta Bi at €3.00m, Abdoullah Ba at €2.00m, and Luke O’Nien and Ahmed Abdullahi at €1.00m.
After such upheaval 12 months ago, a quieter summer window is anticipated.
