Penshaw’s Princess, a 19-year-old Shetland at Penshaw Equestrian Centre, has been given one last shot at forecasting England’s final group match, opting for a win over Panama.
According to Sunderland Echo, the pony, also known as Shannon, got her last two calls wrong, including last week’s pick for Ghana, and that match ended in a draw.
Invited back ahead of Saturday, she faced three bowls marked win, draw and lose, and chose the win bowl.
She is a reliable timer at the yard when it comes to feed, though her football predictions have been less accurate.
Anneli Davidson, Penshaw Equestrian Centre’s manager, said: "Shannon is really getting on board now, joining us in supporting England. We are thrilled she has predicted a win."
England play Panama at 10pm UK time on Saturday, 27 June, in their third Group L game.
