Federico Pastorello revealed that Simone Inzaghi established contact with Al-Hilal even before Inter Milan’s fiasco in the Champions League final.
During an extensive chat with FanPage via FCInterNews, the super-agent shed light on the 49-year-old’s sudden move to Riyadh.
Simone Inzaghi enjoyed a memorable four-year tenure at San Siro.
Indeed, he won six major domestic titles, including a landmark 20th Scudetto in the 2023/24 season.
Furthermore, Inzaghi led the Nerazzurri to two Champions League finals in three years.
However, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain got the better of Inter in Istanbul and Munich, respectively.
Last season’s defeat to Les Parisiens was particularly disturbing, considering Inter were on the receiving end of a 5-0 scoreline.
Unsurprisingly, Inter’s embarrassing performance at the Football Arena in Munich came under heavy scrutiny.
To make things worse, Inzaghi announced his decision to sever ties with the club only a month after the Champions League debacle.

According to Pastorello, Al-Hilal’s first contact with Inzaghi came in the build-up to the Champions League final.
Moreover, the esteemed agent believes Inzaghi would’ve stayed at San Siro had he won the title.
“Obviously, it started beforehand,” Pastorello said. “These are not negotiations that get wrapped up in a week.
“But I can guarantee you that the decision was made after the final. Simone himself told me that if he had won that match, he wouldn’t have left.
“That final was so badly handled by everyone that I can’t believe it happened because the coach might have been distracted.
“Inzaghi is a professional, and winning the Champions League makes a huge difference in any manager’s career.
“I understand all the speculation, but these stories are completely made up.
“He stayed focused on Inter until his very last day of work. In fact, he shut down every type of conversation 4–5 days before the final.”
