Pyramids face RS Berkane this Saturday, October 18 at 5 p.m. GMT at Cairo's June 30 Stadium in the final of the Super Cup of Africa.

For the Egyptians, this is more than just a final—it's a match laced with the scent of revenge. It was this very Berkane side that denied Pyramids the first title in their history, beating them 1-0 in the 2020 Confederation Cup final.

It was Burkinabé Issoufou Dayo, who transferred this summer to Umm Salal SC in Qatar, who scored the decisive goal just a quarter of an hour into that final.

Since that heartbreak, the Cairo club has soared, capturing a host of trophies including the 2024 Egyptian Cup, the 2025 CAF Champions League, and the FIFA Africa-Asia-Pacific Cup just a few months ago.

But Egyptian supporters haven't forgotten. They demand revenge against their Moroccan tormentors, who wiped the smiles from their faces five years ago.

RS Berkane are riding their own wave of success, having claimed the Confederation Cup against Simba SC and clinched their first-ever Moroccan league title under the guidance of Mouine Chaabani.
