The Nigerian striker leaves Bay FC for a new challenge in the Saudi women’s league
Asisat Oshoala / Al Hilal
Asisat Oshoala officially left Bay FC on September 2, 2025, to sign with Al Hilal, a club competing in the Saudi Women’s Premier League. The Nigerian international is embarking on a new chapter of her career in the Middle East.
The Super Falcons star and six-time African Ballon d'Or winner made history with Bay FC in the club’s inaugural season in the National Women’s Soccer League. After joining from FC Barcelona in 2024, she scored the very first goal in Bay FC’s history during the opening match against Angel City FC on March 17. Her clinical finishing saw her end the season as the club’s top scorer with eight goals in the league.
In Saudi Arabia, Oshoala will reunite with her Nigeria national team teammates Ashleigh Plumptre and Francisca Ordega. Al Hilal, who finished sixth last season, are aiming higher as the league expands from eight to ten clubs. The 30-year-old striker has signed a two-year contract through 2027.
