Luka Vuskovic has been one of the rising stars in the Bundesliga this season, having established himself as a key cog in the Hamburger SV defence this season.

Aged just 19, the Croatian has impressed onlookers with his tenacity and dynamic presence at the back, notably making as many as 29 competitive appearances for HSV this term, while his market value has skyrocketed to €60 million.

Vuskovic’s rapid rise to prominence has not gone unnoticed, with Barcelona among the clubs reportedly keen on his services.

Recent reports have even indicated that Vuskovic’s agent, Pini Zahavi, has discussed with Barcelona the possibility of signing the Croatian in the coming summer.

Zahavi denies Vuskovic claims

However, Zahavi, who is in Barcelona to finalise the contract situation of Robert Lewandowski and Hansi Flick, has now categorically denied those claims that suggested Vuskovic was offered to the Catalans.

“Contrary to rumours, I have not offered Luka Vuskovic to Barcelona. Everything being said is completely false. The player’s future will be clarified at the end of the current season. For now, he is expected to return to Tottenham,” he said (h/t Actualite Barça).

Vuskovic is indeed expected to return to Tottenham Hotspur in the coming summer. By that time, the young defender will hope Spurs can remain in the Premier League, as they are currently in an intense relegation battle with West Ham.

Zahavi went on to reveal that he does have two offers from other clubs, but refused to name them.

“The player currently has two offers from other clubs. We will wait until the end of the season to properly define his next destination,” he added.

While Barcelona have been linked with a move for Vuskovic, they are also keeping tabs on other Tottenham defenders, including Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven.

However, a move for either of them or even Vuskovic, for that matter, may hinge on Tottenham getting relegated from the Premier League.
