An Opta-based Supercomputer has predicted the final outcome of the Championship season
The Championship season has now entered its third two-week international break, which is also the last fixture gap of 2025 ahead of the gruelling Christmas period.
Unsurprisingly, there have been plenty of surprises - good and bad - across the opening 15 games of the second-tier campaign, with plenty more expected to unfold across the remaining 31 outings.
Supporters and pundits are known for issuing their pre-season predictions, as well as that of scorelines on a weekly basis from August until May, and very rarely is someone firmly in the right, which is all part of the fun.
However, one fact-based supercomputer which assesses the probability of positive or negative fortunes for each of the 24 clubs has issued its latest predicted table heading into the November international fixtures.

It will come as very little surprise that the 'supercomputer' sees Sheffield Wednesday finishing rock-bottom, with the Owls said to have a 97.86 percent probability when it comes to relegation.
Of course, Wednesday are currently on -4 points after being placed into administration by Dejphon Chansiri on October 24th, which comes with an automatic 12-point deficit. Whilst Henrik Pedersen's men will continue to go down with a fight, stabilising the club off the pitch is the main priority in S6 right now.

Intriguingly, it sees no way back for Norwich City, who will remain 23rd.
The Canaries accrued just nine points under Liam Manning and are winless since August 30th, which was also the last time USMNT forward, Josh Sargent found the net.
Rather unsurprisingly, a 2-1 defeat to Leicester was the 40-year-old's final straw, with Mark Attanasio's search for his successor already well underway.

The supercomputer also believes Oxford United will suffer 'second-season syndrome' and be relegated on approximately 49 points.
Luton Town were relegated on goal difference with the same tally last term, and whilst Gary Rowett's side currently find themselves above the drop-zone, it may not last for much longer.
The U's have won just three games all season, although they have all come within the past 11-game period.

Just preserving their Championship status is Portsmouth, with the supercomputer predicting a one-place fall based on the current standings for John Mousinho's side.
Pompey have been on an extremely poor run of late, having won just once since August, only managing to score more than once since then, which came in the recent 3-2 defeat to Hull City at the MKM Stadium.
As such, pressure has started to come the way of the previously highly-rated John Mousinho.

However, it does predict that Sheffield United will maintain their second-tier status after a disastrous three-month period.
As such, the Blades have been tipped to accumulate 42 points from their final 31 games, which could also stem from the fact Chris Wilder is planning to make a whole host of changes to his squad when the January transfer window comes around.

Alan Sheehan has divided opinion at Swansea City this season, with the supercomputer predicting a 19th-place finish for the South Wales outfit.
Such form means the Irishman may not be able to last a full calendar year in charge of the Swans, whose supporters are expecting better after a raft of high-profile and exciting transfer moves throughout the summer.

Blackburn Rovers had seen a recent upsurge in results halted by Derby County prior to the international break, with the supercomputer believing the East Lancashire side will end the campaign in 18th.
Perhaps an important metric to note is that, at present, Rovers are also the final side with a double-figure probability of relegation, meaning they aren't out of the woods just yet.

Queens Park Rangers have embodied the inconsistent nature of the Championship this term, having made an underwhelming start, resurrecting such form between September and October before embarking on a recent slump of two wins in nine.
As such, they are predicted to end Julien Stephan's first season at Loftus Road in 17th position.

Another side who have epitomised inconsistency is Watford, who look a completely different outfit under Javi Gracia following Paulo Pezzolano's disastrous 10-game tenure.
The Hornets have won two, drawn two and lost as many in Gracia's first six games of his second Vicarage Road stint, which included a 3-0 success over Middlesbrough.
However, the supercomputer sees them finishing 16th based on current form and their future outings.

Southampton enjoyed back-to-back wins under interim boss Tonda Eckert following Will Still's dismissal, boosting optimism levels at St Mary's which were previously on the floor.
However, they are predicted to continue underperforming based on pre-season predictions, ending the season in 15th under whoever takes up the vacancy on a permanent basis.
