An unsung hero at Barcelona was rewarded for his efforts in the club’s latest outing by way of the Man of the Match award.

The player in question? Eric García.

Barcelona were of course back in action a short time ago.

Amid ongoing efforts to hunt down arch rivals Real Madrid atop the La Liga table, the Blaugrana made the trip to the Estadio Carlos Tartiere, for a meeting with Real Oviedo.

And when all was said and done, emerge with all three points is precisely what Hansi Flick’s troops managed.

This came by way of a comeback 3-1 triumph, set in motion by the aforementioned Eric García.

With Barca trailing by a goal to nil during the 2nd-half on Thursday, defender Eric did superbly to adjust his feet and slot home at the back post.

This marked the highlight of what was a stellar all-round performance on the part of a player who is quickly establishing himself as a key figure in Blaugrana colours.

And as alluded to above, such endeavours were aptly rewarded following the full-time whistle in Oviedo, by way of the Man of the Match award.
