Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, highlight the Granata’s place at the top of the pile.

The top end of the Serie A table has been something of a jumble to start off the season.

This has had a lot to do with the inconsistent form of the teams widely expected to fight for the title, or at least the Champions League places.

Napoli have showed some impressive early form to recover from a disastrous opening day defeat to Hellas Verona. But they had to settle for a draw with Juventus in an extremely cagey affair.

And for the Bianconeri, meanwhile, that was the third draw in a row. Stalemates with Roma and Empoli showed that Thiago Motta still has work to do getting the attack firing.

That draw between Juventus and Napoli opened a big door for Inter.

The Nerazzurri could have gone ahead of their presumptive title rivals with a win over city rivals AC Milan.

But instead, the Rossoneri produced a fine performance to get a shock result.

Torino Benefit As AC Milan Shock Inter

Inter are still stuck on eight points from five matches. Not quite a crisis, but also not the form that they’ll need to successfully defend their title.

Milan, meanwhile, have drawn level with the Nerazzurri.

The Rossoneri’s utterly erratic start to the campaign before the first international break means that even after three massive points in the derby they’re only on eight points.

Therefore, Inter, Milan, Juventus, and Napoli are all bunched together at the top. Not one has created any sort of real separation just yet.

Roma and Lazio are a bit further back. Atalanta are on six points, but could get to nine if they beat Como today.

Then, surprise packages Udinese and Empoli are in the mix – for now.

But the team who are top of the pile are Torino.

The Granata have enjoyed a very positive start to the season. They have yet to taste defeat, and beat Hellas Verona in a 3-2 thriller this weekend.

That means that Paolo Vanoli’s team certainly sit free and clear at the top of the table with eleven points.
