Surprise transfer? Bayern is testing a new winger | OneFootball

Technically speaking, Bayern Munich’s transfer window is already closed as far as incoming signings are concerned. Club officials have emphasized this repeatedly, but the record champions are still keeping an eye on the market. 

If something sensible were to come up, Bayern could still make a move. There’s just no longer an urgent need, because Bayern’s management addressed the most important areas of need early on.

Now, however, something might still come up. According to Santiago Acevedo, a journalist from Uruguay, 19-year-old winger Rodrigo Dudok will travel to Munich today, Sunday, to take part in a tryout with FC Bayern.

Will Bayern make a move after all?

According to the report, the young attacking player is expected to stay with FC Bayern for about ten days and train with the team. Dudok is currently under contract with Racing Club de Montevideo in the Uruguayan capital, but his contract expires at the end of the year. He has already played for Uruguay’s U17, U18, and U20 teams and is considered a promising talent.

He has recently played a key role at Racing Club, starting in each of the last five matches. He can play as a left winger but is also capable of playing on the right side. In addition, he has also played as a deep-lying forward.

Whether he will be of interest to FC Bayern will become clear over the next few days, once the coaching staff has had a chance to assess him. It would then be possible to bring the player to Munich immediately. Given his contract situation, only a small transfer fee would be required. A free transfer during the winter break is also conceivable.

Of course, that will depend on how he performs. For a player like him, however, this is an absolutely huge opportunity. If he capitalizes on it, Bayern could indeed make a move—and do so without taking on much risk.
