Suspect arrested over burglary at the home of Ada Hegerberg near Lyon | OneFootball

A suspect was arrested in Grenoble on Friday 18 September over the burglary at the home of Ada Hegerberg, an OL Lyonnes footballer, under four months on from the break-in. According to Le Progres, DNA recovered at the scene guided the investigation.

The break-in happened in the Lyon outskirts on the night of 21 to 22 May, the eve of the Champions League final in Oslo in which Hegerberg was due to play.

The case was handled by the Givors research brigade. The DNA profile identified a man who may have acted with accomplices.

After two days in police custody, he was brought before the Lyon court for an immediate hearing.

He requested an adjournment to prepare his defence, and the trial is now scheduled for Thursday 5 November.

Such burglaries, with criminals exploiting the absence of professional athletes, are not uncommon in the Lyon area.
