Mile Svilar gave an interview to Il Corriere della Sera in which he discussed his attitude on the pitch and the upcoming league match.

The Giallorossi goalkeeper on the match against Inter: “It’s a great match that we can’t wait to play, to test ourselves against the strongest team in the league. The team that has been at the top of its game in recent years.”

The 1999-born goalkeeper on a potential title battle with the Nerazzurri already underway: “It makes me smile. In this city, you play 2-3 good games and you’re elated, then you lose and it’s a tragedy. We need to be balanced and stable. But we know where we come from and we know where we want to go.”

Svilar on the team’s goals: “Look: it’s not like we started last year and said, ‘We’ll finish third.’ But after 20-25 games, we realized that Champions League qualification was achievable. Look, we’ll see later if we’re truly title-winning.”

Mile Svilar responded to those who consider Inter, Roma, and Como favorites for the top three: “Given the style of play, the goals, the way we win games, it might be right. But it’s September, it’s early.”

The Giallorossi goalkeeper on Gasperini’s ability to bring confidence to the team: “There are games that perhaps we can’t break the deadlock right away, and watching them, I think, ‘We’re going to win today, no doubt about it.'”

The 1999-born goalkeeper on Gasperini’s demands: “Do you know how the coach is really different? He leaves me free to make decisions, yes. We try something with our feet, even if it’s more difficult with the new rules. But we never want to take unnecessary risks. In today’s football, everyone wants to invent something from the back: it’s exaggerated, mistakes cost points.”

Svilar shared his secret in one-on-one situations: “Timing. I think I have the timing to come out low, to immediately understand what the right choice is. Maybe it’s because I’ve been doing it since I was a child, I’d throw myself in other people’s feet imitating my dad.”

Mile Svilar on Juventus’s alleged offer: “I haven’t even had a conversation about this. I’m not someone who signs a contract extension until 2030 and then turns his back on the decision I made the following year.”

The Giallorossi goalkeeper spoke about the importance of Daniele De Rossi: “He changed my life. Perhaps I wouldn’t be at Roma today without him.” The 1999-born goalkeeper revealed his all-time idol: “Casillas. At home, I jealously guard two of his Real Madrid and Porto shirts, and a pair of his gloves.”
