It ended in a draw for the third time in a row at Llandarcy, as Swansea City were held 2-2 by Aberystwyth Town in the Genero Adran Premier.

Aberystwyth travelled to Swansea, a fixture that has seen them take points off the champions in their last two visits. The Swans made a quick start with Chloe Tiley converting Ellie Lake’s cross on the third minute. Aberystwyth were provided a chance to get back into the match after a scramble in the Swans box led to a penalty, slotted home by Libby Isaac, who doubled the visitors’ lead just before half time with a superb individual goal. The Swans were on top in the second half, but were held off until the 85th minute when Sarah Adams found a way through. Aber next have a rescheduled game at Barry on Thursday.

Abergavenny versus Cardiff Met kicked off early and the Archers took no time to open the scoring with Emily Allen on target in the third minute, following an pinpoint pass from Robyn Pinder. Megan Stanton equalised for Abergavenny from the edge of the box to go in level at half time. Allen was in top form in the second half, adding a cracker of a second, before partnering with Pinder again for the hat-trick ten minutes before full time.

TNS made the journey to the capital to face Cardiff City and put pressure on the Bluebirds’ 100% record. The home side opened the scoring with Zoe Atkins heading in, but Chantelle Teare replied 15 minutes later. Being level only lasted six minutes, as Eliza Collie added her name to the scoresheet to see Cardiff go into the break 2-1 up. Phoebie Poole was straight into the action in the second half, scoring on the 46th minute to extend the hosts’ lead. The day’s second penalty was awarded to TNS and Beth Lewis calmly slotted home.

At Jenner Park, Pontypridd were back after their 5-0 win in the FAW Women’s Cup two weeks ago. Alison Witts once again opened the scoring for the Dragons, heading in a cross from Jasmine Turner, Liv Francis then picked up where she left off last week and added a second. Witts was involved with the third, linking up with substitute Renee Day who wrapped up the points as Ponty climbed into fourth spot.

Next weekend is another round of the Cup, including two all Premier clashes between Cardiff City and Pontypridd and Swansea facing Cardiff Met. Swansea also have a midweek game, this time heading to Abergavenny on 2 November.
