Swansea City are set to sanction a loan departure for Swedish winger, Zeidane Inoussa, after the Swedish winger was omitted from Vitor Matos' 25-man Championship squad for between the campaign's two transfer windows.

According to Expressen, he is bound for the Polish Ekstraklasa and will join Gornik Zabrze on a temporary basis for between now and the end of the season.

After an encouraging initial period in charge of the South Wales outfit following the departure of Alan Sheehan 10 months ago, Matos will be hoping Swansea can build on their strong start to the Championship season after just six matches played, losing just once.

A number of eye-catching transfers had been made throughout the summer window by Swansea, particularly in midfield and attacking areas, which had put question marks over Inoussa's immediate future.

And, after being the subject of interest from divisional rivals, Portsmouth, just last month, the man who arrived from BK Hacken in 2025 will, in the meantime, be hoping to source regular minutes after a rather unfortunate 2026 to-date.

Inoussa was recruited during the aforementioned Sheehan's only transfer window in charge at the Swansea.Com Stadium, moving from the Allsvenskan club for a reported £5.1m fee on a five-year contract.

Having made his debut on the opening day of last season against Middlesbrough, the left-winger then went on to make 25 more Championship appearances, of which 13 came from the starting lineup, before suffering a fractured back in early January, just weeks into Matos' tenure.

After a lengthy recovery period, Inoussa was linked with a loan to Fratton Park last month before John Mousinho opted to spend £2.5m on Burton Albion's Tyrese Shade instead, before seeing another temporary switch to Croatian outfit, NK Osijec, fall through earlier this week.

However, Expressen now claim Inoussa is on the cusp of a loan agreement with Gornik Zabrze, who are currently third in the Polish top-flight after five wins and one defeat from their first six matches.

Although the transfer window in England closed at 11PM on Tuesday, September 1st, Championship sides are either in a position where they are vulnerable to losing key players to clubs in specific European leagues, or a deal such as Inoussa's can be sanctioned for the betterment of all parties.

That is exactly what Matos outlined when discussing the Swede's future after he was initially omitted from Swansea's 25-man squad.

"At the moment some markets are still open so let's see how it ends up," said the Swans boss.

"The space is still there (in the 25-man squad), and when everything is more settled we will assess and see for sure what the situation will be."

Inoussa is still under contract with Swansea until 2030, meaning there is plenty of time for his long-term future to be decided.

However, with Matos recruiting the likes of Joseph Opoku, Jeremy Monga and Moussa Yeo this summer, it was rather apparent the Swedish youth international would find it hard to source regular gametime.

That said, if he is able to regain his fitness levels and perform to a high standard in Poland, his chances of being involved in the Swans' setup could be way stronger in nine months' time.
