The past few weeks have been a turbulent time for the Swans, after making the decision to part ways with manager Alan Sheehan after a poor run of form.

Having won just two of his last 11 matches in all competitions, the 39-year-old was handed his marching orders at the start of the November international break, much to the relief of an increasingly-disgruntled Jack Army fanbase.

Maritimo head coach Vitor Matos appears to be the most likely man to take over the post, after Swedish boss Kim Hellberg was snatched from their grasp by Middlesbrough.

In a period of change for the Welsh outfit, news has now emerged that they could soon lose one of their star players too.

Few players have arrived at Swansea with more potential than the Brazilian in recent years, with the 24-year-old becoming one of the club’s most exciting players.

After joining from Gremio Anapolis for a seven-figure fee in January 2024, the Brazilian quickly endeared himself in South Wales with his brilliant technique and eye for goal.

Ronald scored twice and recorded seven assists in the Championship last term, and has already netted four times in all competitions this season, highlighting the level of performance he is operating at.

However, Swansea could soon lose his services.

According to ESPN Brazil journalist Felipe Silva, Ronaldo may be set for an exit in the upcoming winter transfer window.

His strong outings are believed to have attracted interest from the Middle East as well as the Premier League, which would be hard for both the player and Swansea to turn down.

Ronald’s current deal with the Swans is set to expire in 2027.

If interest in Ronald does eventually present itself from the Premier League and the Middle East, it may become increasingly hard for a transfer to be avoided.

Although the 24-year-old has shown brilliance in Wales, receiving a handsome fee for his services may be enough for the Swans to happily part with the forward. Ronald, it must be said, has struggled for consistency throughout his time in SA1, and while he did kick on somewhat in his first full campaign last time out by registering seven assists, a goal return of just two strikes represents need for improvement and his contributions in the final third often leave the Swansea.com Stadium faithful divided.

This money could then be reinvested into the rest of the squad, helping improve Swansea’s overall performance as a result.

Ronald is currently the Swans’ second-highest goalscorer in the Championship and with the side just seven points clear of relegation, they may think twice about cashing in.
