Sébastien Pocognoli's first Hampden match ended in disappointment as 10-man Scotland were beaten 3-0 by Switzerland in the Nations League.

Scotland’s night unravelled inside the opening 15 minutes when Jack Hendry was sent off after bringing down Dan Ndoye. His initial yellow card and penalty decision were overturned following a VAR review, but Switzerland were awarded a free-kick, which Ricardo Rodriguez curled into the top corner.

Kieron Bowie was immediately replaced by Stephen Welsh as Pocognoli reshaped his defence. Scotland showed resilience for the remainder of the half, with Andrew Robertson going close, but Switzerland remained dangerous.

The visitors doubled their lead 10 minutes after the restart when Nico Elvedi converted Ndoye’s low cross.

Pocognoli made a triple substitution, but Scotland struggled to respond. Zeki Amdouni then completed the scoring in the 82nd minute with a powerful first-time finish.

The defeat leaves Scotland with one point from two Group B1 matches, while Switzerland remain top.
