Hosts Switzerland Women get their Women’s Euro 2025 campaign underway against Norway Women at St Jakob-Park on Wednesday 2nd July at 8pm (UK time). While this is the second game of the tournament, it will include the opening ceremony as Switzerland’s first match. The match will be broadcast live in the UK on BBC.

Norway to win and BTTS – No (12/5 with Bet365)

Norway’s last two competitive wins have come against Switzerland, in February and June. But only one of their six competitive matches in 2025 have seen more than two goals scored. This should be a close game with neither side really standing out against the other. Norway look the better side though and should take a narrow win against a Swiss side that have struggled in front of goal in recent times, failing to hit the net in three of their last five games.

Caroline Graham Hansen to assist anytime (12/1 with Bet365)

Caroline Graham Hansen provided an assist in three of her final four games across all competitions for Barcelona in the 2024-25 season. Hansen has been in good form recently for her club side and this should correlate well with the national side, with her ability on the ball being a major asset to her team.

How both teams go into Switzerland vs Norway

There will be a lot of excitement around Switzerland as they host the Women’s European Championship. And fans will be hoping to see their side get out of the group stage for the first time. Switzerland have appeared at each of the past two European Championships but they’ve won just one of their six games, losing three alongside two draws.

At Euro 2022, Switzerland took one point from their three games, conceding eight goals in total. Although they didn’t need to qualify for Euro 2025 as hosts, they still took part in a group and won five of their six games. But their build up to Euro 2025 hasn’t been ideal. Switzerland are winless in their past six competitive games, losing four. That includes two defeats to upcoming opponents, Norway.

Norway were fancied as dark horses at Euro 2022 but bowed out at the group stage, losing two of their three matches. That included an 8-0 defeat to England. It was Norway’s second consecutive group-stage exit, after four straight semi-final runs. Let’s not forget, Norway are also two-time European champions, lifting the trophy in 1987 and 1993.

There are high expectations for Norway in 2025, although they are mostly for the group stage. Norway had to come through the play-offs to qualify for Euro 2025, having finishing third in their qualifying group — with four draws from six games. Both Albania and Northern Ireland were thrashed on aggregate in the play-offs, as Norway secured their return. But it hasn’t been a great year so far, with Norway winning just two of their six competitive games this year. Of course, those both came against Switzerland.

Switzerland team news

Switzerland will be without Ramona Bachmann, who suffered an ACL injury in training during the build up to the tournament. Luana Buhler has also had to withdraw from the squad due to injury, being replaced by Laia Balleste.

Norway team news

All eyes will be on Caroline Graham Hansen, who has recently struggled to replicate her Barcelona performances for her national team. Marthine Ostenstad has been added to the Norway squad to replace the injured Guro Bergsvand.

Switzerland vs Norway head-to-head

Switzerland and Norway have already faced off twice this year, with the Scandinavian side winning both matches.
