Dominik Szobozlai has been a rare bright spot in Liverpool's topsy turvy season.
At different times, Arne Slot's side have been indebted to the Hungary international's exploits and sometimes they have cursed his luck after successive blunders last week.
Szoboszlai gifted Barnsley a lifeline into their FA Cup tie at Anfield with a poor backheel before missing a penalty as the Reds were held by Burnley in the Premier League.
But the midfielder has consistently come up clutch in the Champions League and did so again in the first half of his side's penultimate league phase encounter at Marseille.
A low-struck free kick before the interval at the Orange Vélodrome saw Szobozlai rack up a seventh goal involvement in as many matches of Europe's elite club competition.
The last time he scored from a set piece on the continent, Liverpool pulled off a hard-fought win at Inter before Christmas. Will history be repeating itself tonight?
