Tab Ramos says a Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi link-up at Inter Miami could happen, but warned it might become a mess.

According to Goal.com, Ramos said: “I think it could happen. I don’t think it will. If Ronaldo comes here, he will likely end up in another team.”

The 41-year-old recently staged strike action in the Saudi Pro League amid questions over how funds are distributed among leading teams. He sat out three Al-Nassr matches before returning, is back among the goals and is chasing 1,000 competitive efforts. His deal runs to the summer of 2027 and contains a release clause.

Ramos floated Los Angeles, even the LA Galaxy, noting LAFC have taken many of the headlines and the Galaxy may want to reclaim top billing. “Ronaldo’s signing would certainly give them that exposure,” he said.

On a potential Miami pairing with Messi, Ramos dismissed talk of egos, saying both now simply want to win. He added the real problem would be logistics, “because it’s going to be a mess with the attention that this team would get”.

It has been suggested co-owner Sir David Beckham could be the man to try to make it happen. Rob Earnshaw said if it were to happen anywhere, it would be somewhere like Inter Miami, though he does not think it will happen, adding Beckham would be the one to make it possible if there were a chance. World Cup winner Kleberson said America would go crazy, calling it a dream team.
