Stuttgart set 2. Bundesliga side Hamburg an ultimatum on Friday for Josha Vagnoman but an agreement between the two clubs wasn’t reached.
According to Kicker, Stuttgart offered €3.5m plus €1m in bonuses for the German youth international, but HSV would like a base fee of €4.5m excluding add-ons.
HSV sporting director Jonas Boldt has the backing of the Supervisory Board to not sell Vagnoman, should they wish to keep him. However, they must sell before bringing in new players. The 2. Bundesliga side are in the market for a striker and winger.
Vagnoman agreed a deal in principle for a four-year contract with Stuttgart.
The 21-year-old missed much of last campaign through injury, playing just 671 minutes of 2. Bundesliga football.
