Corinthians lost the Brasileirão Feminino final to São Paulo, 3-2 on aggregate, on Saturday, ending a six-season run. Focus now shifts to the Libertadores later this month, with senior figure Tamires urging a reset.
According to Meu Timao, the left-back said football brings highs and lows, they must pick themselves up, and mental work is needed to switch focus to the continental competition.
The squad rest until Tuesday and resume on Wednesday to prepare for the Libertadores. Corinthians open Group A against Chile's Colo-Colo on 15 October at Estádio Casa Blanca in Quito.
Coach Emily Lima has faced scrutiny from media and the Fiel this year. Tamires maintained trust in her work and noted there are still trophies to contest in 2026.
Under Lima, the Brabas have played 32 matches, with 21 wins, eight defeats and three draws, a 69% return. Beyond the Libertadores, Corinthians also face Red Bull Bragantino in the Campeonato Paulista play-in in November.
Asked if the club have lost benchmark status in Brazil, Tamires rejected it, praised São Paulo and said one defeat does not erase recent achievements.
Their previous loss in a Brasileiro final came in 2019 against Ferroviária on penalties. They then won six straight from 2020 to 2025 and, with 2018, remain the competition's most successful side with seven titles.
