Corinthians thrashed Taubaté 6-2 in the Paulista Feminino amid a turbulent week over delayed payments, following a players' meeting with president Osmar Stabile.

The day before the game, senior players held a 90 minute meeting to press for overdue image rights and bonuses, and set a 10 day deadline for the board to settle what is owed, according to Meu Timao.

Tamires, who did not attend, said after the match that the club had apologised and was trying to reorganise its finances. She said the squad had been told arrears would be paid this week or next.

The club is late on image rights for June and July, plus bonuses from the 2025 Libertadores title and runner-up finishes in the 2026 Copa das Campeãs and Supercopa do Brasil. Supporters have protested on social media and in the stands at Fazendinha.

Discontent grew at the start of the week when the board paid the men's June image rights, with July and prize money for the Libertadores and the Brasileirão still outstanding.

The club intends to clear the women's debt in two instalments within that window, the first due on Friday and the rest the following week. If arrears reach a third month, players could seek legal routes to terminate contracts unilaterally.

On the pitch, Corinthians finished third in the Paulista and will face Red Bull Bragantino in a play-in for a semi-final place. Before that, they meet Cruzeiro on Monday in the first leg of the Brasileirão quarter-finals at Arena Independência, kick-off 19:15.
