Tammy Abraham’s admiration for Noah Okafor, formed during their toughest moments together at AC Milan, is now reflected in Leeds United’s £18m forward. Above the pace and skill, Abraham keeps returning to mentality, and Leeds are seeing why.

The pair featured together nine times in 2024-25 and spent long spells in rehab as both dealt with injuries. That time deepened their bond and framed Abraham’s recent appraisal.

“He has pace, power. It’s all that Nigerian food he’s been eating.” He also highlighted dribbling, an eye for goal and professionalism, and urged him to keep showing it, he said on Okafor’s YouTube channel.

This season Okafor has eight Premier League goals and an assist. In recent weeks his conversion rate trailed only Harry Kane after a brace against Manchester United, and he has scored in major matches against Nottingham Forest and Chelsea, while stressing the need for Leeds to keep fighting together.

Abraham’s focus on discipline and self‑motivation resonates, and he often tells Okafor to shoot more, suggesting there is another level to reach. Inside Elland Road, Dan James praised him early on despite external Swiss scepticism over consistency and attitude, and the club backed him.

Okafor has admitted his Milan spell did not go as planned, with injuries and uneven chances slowing progress. He still took a Serie A winners’ medal during a loan at Napoli before joining Leeds, where rhythm and confidence have returned, lending weight to Abraham’s judgement.
