The Lasses picked up all three points in midweek as they beat second-placed Birmingham City Women to cut the gap on the top two to just two points.
In what has been another quick turnaround for United, Oxtoby has been looking to manage her players while also getting across enough tactical advice for a third game in eight days.
As well as looking to Crystal Palace, Oxtoby spoke about the midweek win and praised the returning duo of Deanna Cooper and Emma Kelly.
Here are the key talking points from Oxtoby's pre-match interview...
"I was really proud of the performance because it took the whole squad to get over the line, and you'd expect nothing else at this stage of the season when it's all about results.
"It's a massive part of the culture we're trying to create here that everyone plays a role. Whether that's playing two minutes, 20 minutes or no minutes, everyone has a part to play."
"It's a balancing act. We have the ones who've perhaps not had as many minutes as they'd have liked, now getting a little bit sharper and are ready to go.
"Then the ones who've had a number of minutes now getting some rest and recovery, while also getting all the tactical information. So it's all about that balance."
"I know it's a cliché, but it's one game at a time and making sure that we're really concentrating on the details and the bits that we can control, which is our own performance.
"I've been asking for a 90-minute gritty performance like Wednesday for a while now, and I thought we executed our game plan super well, so it's about replicating that."
"It's great for both of them because they're really big characters around the group in their own ways. So I'm really pleased for them, and for us, it's now trying to look after them a little bit, knowing they're coming back from injury."
"They're in a really good run of form and got a lot of momentum, so from our point of view it's another challenge, and we know that we’ve got to be right at it for 90 plus minutes. If we do that, then we give ourselves a chance.
"Palace are a team that don't give much away, so we need to make sure that we're clinical as well."
