Tarik Muharemovic: Man United learn price for Sassuolo defender as January transfer chances are revealed | OneFootball

Manchester United have discovered Sassuolo’s valuation for defensive gem Tarik Muharemovic, as well as their chances of signing him this month. 

United eyeing Muharemovic

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that United are among a number of clubs interested in Muharemovic, who has emerged as one of the best defenders in Serie A this season.

Muharemovic has made 16 Serie A appearances this season, helping Sassuolo to keep three clean sheets in that period. A goal threat, the defender also has four strikes to his name.

The 22-year-old ranks in the 88th, 99th and 95th percentiles for aerial duels won, clearances and shots blocked.

But his impact goes beyond his solidity and no-nonsense defending. Muharemovic is also an adept passer of the ball, ranking in the 81st percentile for successful passes.

The report mentioned that United scouts have been keeping close tabs on the Bosnia and Herzegovina international, who is also on the radar of Aston Villa and Bournemouth.

Now, Gazetta dello Sport claim that Inter Milan have joined the race for Muharemovic, whom they view as an ideal replacement for Stefan de Vrij.

The update also notes how much Sassuolo want for Muharemovic and where they stand on a potential January sale.

Muharemovic update

According to the Italian news outlet [via SportWitness], Bologna are another club looking at Muharemovic and have even made enquiries about him.

Muharemovic is currently valued at €30m.

However, Sassuolo have no plans to offload him this month, with a departure more probable in the summer. The club hopes Muharemovic’s upward trajectory continues, as this would almost certainly increase his transfer value.

The player joined Sassuolo on an initial season-long loan during the 2024/25 campaign in a deal that included a conditional obligation to buy. This mandatory buy option was activated when the side attained promotion from Serie B at the end of that season, costing a reported fee of €5m including bonuses.

It’s worth noting that Juventus retain a 50% sell-on clause for Muharemovic.
