Inter Miami is falling into its own trap. After beating the New England Revolution in an incredible comeback from the Chicago Fire game, the Herons still need to adjust their hunger against better-prepared teams.

The win against the Revs left Las Garzas in third place in the Eastern Conference. However, it is common knowledge that the Supporters’ Shield trophy is out of the equation, so Javier Mascheranomust prepare the team to face Atlanta United next Saturday.

Nevertheless, reporter German Garcia Grova has confirmed that a former Inter Miami manager will return to MLS, this time to coach a team that recently signed a superstar.

Tata Martino is set to join the LAFC after this season.

Gerardo “Tata” Martino left Inter Miami after winning the 2023 Leagues Cup and the 2024 Supporters’ Shield. At the end of last season, Martino informed the Herons that, due to personal reasons, he would leave the manager position to focus on the dilemma.

That’s where Javier Mascherano took control and became Inter Miami’s new coach for the current season. With ups and downs, the journey of Tata was one of the first times that Las Garzas reached a level of football that we are missing.

One year after his departure, the mentioned journalist confirms that the former Atlanta United head coach returns to the league to coach one of the two biggest teams in the Western Conference, the LAFC.

The name of Gerardo Martino was mentioned by many teams to become their new coach. Some of them were: the New England Revolution, St. Louis City, and Sporting Kansas. Also, he received a proposal to coach Colo-Colo of Chile.

Despite any interest from other MLS clubs, the LAFC became the final choice. A project with Heung-Ming Son and Denis Bouanga, the hottest duo in the league right now, was more promising than what any other club could offer.

Steve Cherundolo, Los Angeles Football Club's current manager, already stated that he will leave his position at the end of the season. The Black and Gold sit fourth in their conference, with chances of winning the conference title.

Although Inter Miami and LAFC play in different conferences (Inter Miami in the East and LAFC in the West), there is no rule preventing them from meeting in either the regular season or the playoffs. So yes, the possibility of seeing Tata back at Chase Stadium is real, this time, with a different team.
