West Ham United have completed the signing of Taty Castellanos, with the forward bidding farewell to Lazio on social media on Monday.
The club said in a statement on their official website that the Argentine has signed a contract running until June 2030.
Lazio signed Castellanos from New York City FC in summer 2023. He began as understudy to Ciro Immobile, then became first choice when Igor Tudor arrived in March 2024.
He led the line through 2024/25 under Marco Baroni, before Maurizio Sarri moved him to the bench. Sarri, 66, recently acknowledged the striker might not suit his system, so a split appeared likely.
In recent days Lazio reached an agreement with West Ham, with the fee reportedly €30 million.
In an Instagram letter, Castellanos described leaving as difficult, said wearing the shirt was a source of pride, and thanked executives, team-mates, staff and especially supporters. He added that he will always be a Lazio fan.
He departs after two and a half seasons, having made 98 appearances in all competitions, scoring 22 goals and providing 16 assists.
