Granit, 28, has a contract with the Gunners to 2023 and has stated he is happy playing for manager Mikel Arteta. However before they both hang up the boots, Taulant says they've discussed playing together in Switzerland for Basel.

He told Sport1 via Fussball Transfers: "We have talked about this several times.

"My dream would of course be that Granit comes back to Basel and that we play here together for the next few years."

Granit came through the youth system at Basel before joining Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012. With the Swiss powerhouse, Granit twice won the Super League title and also the Swiss Cup.

Taulant, meanwhile, has played his entire pro career in Switzerland and has been on the books of Basel. However, he had a season away on-loan with Grasshoppers.

While Granit is a Switzerland international, Taulant plays for Albania. He had been capped by Switzerland from U17 to U21 level before committing to Albania in 2014.
