Taylor Hinds is set to end her five-year stay at Liverpool and join European champions Arsenal on a free transfer.
The Guardian has reported that Hinds has decided to join the Gunners when her contract expires at the end of June.
As things stand, neither Arsenal or Liverpool confirmed the news. However, with just days left of her Liverpool contract, it appears that she will make a switch to the Champions League winners.
It was reported earlier this month that the Gunners were targeting a move for Hinds after finishing second in the WSL.
The Athletic reported that Liverpool presented Hinds with a strong contract offer. However, it appears that this offer has been dismissed by the 26-year-old Jamaican international.
The Guardian reported that Taylor Hinds has decided to make the transfer to Arsenal so she can play Champions League football next season.
Arsenal are the reigning holders of Europe’s most prestigious prize after beating Barcelona in the final last month.
Hinds was a key part of the Liverpool side that got promoted to the WSL in 2022. However, the Reds have been some way away from qualifying for the Champions League.
This past season, the Reds finished seventh in the Women’s Super League.
It’s said that while Liverpool are disappointed to lose their vice-captain, they respect her decision.
During her time at Liverpool she made over 100 appearances for the club.
A free transfer to Arsenal would mark a return to the Gunners for Taylor Hinds.
Hinds, a former England youth international, came through the academy at Arsenal. However, after struggling to break into the first team, she joined Everton in 2018.
After two years with Everton, she made the switch to their Merseyside rivals Liverpool, where she has spent the past five seasons.
Hinds strengthens Arsenal’s options at full-back on both sides of the pitch. She predominantly plays on the left, but she can also play as a right-back.
She could prove to be a replacement for current Arsenal full-back Laura Wienrother – who likewise can play on either side of the pitch.
Weinrother has been linked with a move away from Arsenal, after spending the second-half of last season at Manchester City.
