Napoli were so impressed by Jackson Tchatchoua against them that they want to sign the Hellas Verona full-back, but the price-tag has risen since Everton and Rennes talks.
Antonio Conte’s men were given a rude awakening at the start of the Serie A season when beaten 3-0 at the Stadio Bentegodi.
While the goals were scored by Dailon Rocha Livramento and Daniel Mosquera, it was right-back Tchatchoua that most impressed Conte.
According to Sportitalia, it prompted Napoli to ask Verona for information on the player and whether he might be available on the transfer market.
Tchatchoua is a Cameroon international who turns 23 next month, he plays primarily on the right side of defence, but can also work on the left.
Verona paid €3m to sign him from Charleroi after an initial one-year loan and he has already attracted interest from Everton and Stade Rennais.
However, that performance against Napoli really boosted his profile and consequently his price-tag too, now climbing to €15m including add-ons.
