For anyone looking to show support to Aston Villa, three Villans have been deemed to have had a good enough season to warrant consideration for the Premier League Team of the Season. Out of 40 available options for fans to choose to vote for, three are AVFC members.
While these types of lists can often involve discussions of who was snubbed (Emiliano Martínez), focusing instead on who supporters can vote for, there are worthy Villans to cast a vote for. Among the forwards, Ollie Watkins is listed. The midfielders see Youri Tielemans and Morgan Rogers among the options.
Watkins has impressed, as the attacker is close to breaking the club EPL record. He seemingly shows his productivity every time he steps foot on the pitch. While he isn't seeing the amount of playing time that he'd like, the England international always makes a huge impact, causing havoc for opposing defenders.
Tielemans is the side's workhorse. The Belgian simply always makes his presence known as a true box-to-box midfielder. He does an excellent job of protecting the back four. In the attack he then finds opportune moments to pick out picture-perfect passes and set up his teammates.
Finally, Rogers is impressing fan bases beyond Birmingham. Clubs are reportedly interested in the midfielder, and others are hoping that it's for their respective side. And with good reason. He's dazzled, showing his skill and dribbling abilities. Also, being clever in link-up play, he is a force for Villa in the final third.
Between all of the players, more of them could prove to be seen just as favorably by the larger public as they are by claret and blue supporters. With the season Aston Villa are having, three of their players could be in the year's next XI by the end of the campaign.
Unai Emery continues to grow and build the club the right way. This year sees three nominees from the side. With how the Spaniard is leaving his imprint on Villa, the ones included this year will be in the company of many more to come in the upcoming seasons moving forward. Although for Watkins, he'll hope it's the second year in a row that he makes the final selection as well.
