Team’s Up – Derek McInnes names Rangers XI to face Celtic

Rangers manager Derek McInnes has named his team for this afternoon’s Premier Sports Cup clash against Celtic. The Scottish Champions arrive at the home of their fierce rivals as both teams look to secure a place at Hampden for the Semi Finals.

McInnes, who was recently suspended after making comments about refereeing decisions in favour of Celtic, is back in the dugout. The ex-Hearts and Aberdeen manager has named his team for today and it looks like he could be starting with a 4-4-2 with Dan Neil and Niko Raskin as the midfield pairing.

Rangers: Pandur, Sterling, Fernandez, Makhanya, Penrice, Neil, Rankin, Minsu, Gassama, Kelsy, Naderi.

Subs: McCrorie, Godfrey, Dragojevic, Devlin, Chukwuani, Curtis, Bouanani, Miovski.

There is, of course, no Lawrence Shankland after he suffered a hamstring injury.

There are no away fans in attendance at the game after the latest row over tickets. Rangers departed from the agreement of 2500 briefs as the discourse from last season’s Scottish Cup Quarter Final rumbles on. The game will have an added pressure on McInnes, who struggled in the opening stages of his tenure. The home support could turn quickly against him if Celtic get their tails up, especially with next weekend’s league meeting at Celtic Park.
