Martin O’Neill has named his Celtic team for this afternoon’s Glasgow Derby against Rangers. The Irishman, who turns 74 today, has picked the team that he believes will be able to defeat Danny Röhl’s side and kickstart Celtic’s title charge.

O’Neill has gone with Vil Sinisalo in goals after the Finnish International impressed against Stuttgart, keeping a clean sheet in the away win. Kasper Schmeichel has not made the bench.

Liam Scales starts with Dane Murray in the centre of defence. Julian Araujo is at right back with Kieran Tierney at left back.

Callum McGregor skippers the team beside Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain with Benji Nygren in the advanced role.

Junior Adamu starts through the middle with Yang and Maeda out wide.

Subs: Doohan, Cvancara, McCowan, Tounetki, Saracchi, Hatate, Arthur, Forrest & Donovan.

Celtic’s absences are noticeable with Arne Engels, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston and Jota all sidelined with injuries while Auston Trusty misses out through suspension. There is no place in the squad for Kelechi Iheanacho, who came on midweek, and Mvuka, who was signed on a loan to buy deal in January.
