Team’s Up – Valakari names St Johnstone XI for Celtic clash | OneFootball

St Johnstone manager Simo Valakari has named his side for this evening’s Scottish Premiership clash against Celtic. The Championship winners have been impressive at home since winning promotion, beating Kilmarnock and Hibernian.

Valakari masterminded a win over Celtic in April last year as Brendan Rodgers’ side stumbled in their march towards the title. The 1-0 win for the hosts was a stay of execution as they were, inevitably, relegated. However, the Finnish manager stayed at McDiarmid Park and helped them win the Championship last season, playing attractive football.

St Johnstone: Stewart, Alic, Diabate, Steven, Holt, Fowler, Finlayson, Todd, Cotterill, Campbell, McAlear.

Elsewhere, Martin O’Neill has named his side to face the Saints with Sam Johnstone, Oliver Sorensen and Dane Murray all handed starts while Kasper Hogh returns to the starting XI.

The game kicks off at 8pm (Celtic Park Time) and the game will be shown on Sky Sports Football with coverage beginning half an hour before kick-off.
